
ABOUT YOGA4HEALTH IRELAND
Martina Meegan. Founder and Teacher
Martina is a Yoga Teacher based in Meath with a passion for Yoga in Healthcare. She has over 20 years’ experience in Ireland, England & Canada in Radiation Oncology, having originally studied and worked in St Luke’s Hospital in Dublin between 1983 to 1988. This background has provided her with a passion for helping people to live a full and healthy life, using interventions and practices that are well researched and scientifically sound.
Over the past 10 years, she has become an internationally accredited Yoga Teacher (500 hours with Yoga Therapy Ireland) with additional specialisation in Yoga for The Stages of Menopause, Yoga in Cancer Care, Adaptive Chair Yoga, Mam & Baby Yoga, Yoga in Trauma Care, Yin Yoga ,Yoga for Sports and Yoga Therapy.
In 2022, she become a certified Yoga4Health and Yoga4NHS Teacher with Yoga in Healthcare Alliance (YIHA) in the UK and has been teaching the programme in her local Family Resource Centre since 2023. In May 2024, Martina was selected to be one of 30 participants in this year’s Social Entrepreneurs Ireland’s Ideas Academy with Yoga4Health Ireland.
She is passionate about offering evidence-based yoga in the community. She is dedicated to building and supporting a team of Yoga4Health Teachers to share this wonderful programme in every part of Ireland.

Yoga4Health Teachers
All Yoga4Health teachers currently train with Yoga in Healthcare Alliance in UK . This training is accredited by the Personalised Care Institute (PCI) established by the Royal College of GPs and NHS Improvement. All our teachers work within a comprehensive policy framework, including safeguarding, equality, and data protection.

Aoife Clarke is based on the Cavan/Meath border. Aoife has a Masters in Psychology ( TCD) and has worked in healthcare for over 10 years with clinically diverse populations.
She completed her 500hr Yoga teacher training with Yoga Therapy Ireland in 2021 with additional training in Restorative Yoga and Yoga4Health. Her passion is teaching restorative yoga, teaching young adults within the healthcare services and delivering the evidence based Yoga4 Health Programme throughout Cavan and Meath.

Bonnie Lynch currently teaches Yoga in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan and has been working in Healthcare for over 10 years. She has over 700 hrs Yoga Teacher Training from India and Yoga Therapy Ireland including Chair Yoga, Functional Yoga, Yin Yoga and a Yoga Asana Analysis course. Bonnie has a very good grounding in meditation having lived in a Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre for 7 years.
In 2023 she became a certified Yoga4Health teacher with Yoga in Healthcare Alliance (YIHA). She is passionate about helping people to feel well and at ease in their body and mind and to cultivate lasting peace and happiness.

Margaret Mc Govern has a wealth of experience in holistic healthcare with over 40 years’ experience in nursing. She is also a 500 hr qualified Yoga Teacher with Yoga Therapy Ireland, Yoga4Health Teacher with YIHA and holds an MSc in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She is passionate about the integration of evidence-based yoga in the Irish healthcare system and supporting her healthcare colleagues in the challenging environment of caring for others. Margaret is based in South Dublin and currently teaches the Yoga4Health Programme in An Cosan, Tallaght.

Elizabeth Hanney is a Yoga Teacher and Life Coach in Kells, Co. Meath. She completed her two year (500hrs) yoga teacher training in 2014 with Yoga Therapy Ireland and set up Mindful Yoga with Elizabeth. Elizabeth has further qualifications in Cancer Conscious Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Adaptive Chair Yoga and delivers classes for the MS society.
In January 2021 she qualified in Coaching with Neuroscience and in 2023 became a certified Yoga4Health Teacher with the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance (YIHA) UK.

Marie Purcell Flynn is co-owner of Breathe Yoga & Pilates, Trim, Co. Meath where she teaches both Yoga (RYT500 hr) and Pilates. Marie has a background in the biological sciences where she worked for many years in both the private and public sectors.
She has additional qualifications in Yoga for The Stage of Menopause, Bone Health and Pregnancy Yoga. She completed her Yoga4Health training with YIHA in 2024 and currently offers the programme with Healthy Meath in Navan.

Susan Roth is an avid practitioner of meditation, mindfulness and yoga, having come to the practices to help manage work related stress and anxiety. She has studied extensively in Germany, her home country and Ireland with Yoga Therapy Ireland (500 hours June 2023). She completed her Yoga4Health Training in 2023 and has delivered several programmes in the community of Drogheda, Co Louth. She is passionate about offering evidence-based yoga to the community, supporting people to bring about lifestyle changes to achieve greater wellbeing.

Pamela Sheil completed her 500 hour yoga teacher training with YTI in 2012, initially for her own self development but then moved into teaching. In 2015, she completed further studies with YTI in Advanced Teaching Skills and Yoga Therapy. In 2023, she completed her Yoga4Health Training with YIHA and is currently co-teaching the programme in An Cosan, Dublin with Margaret Mc Govern.

Bríd Downes is a yoga teacher based in Trim, Co Meath and co-owner of Breathe Yoga & Pilates, where she teaches regularly. Bríd qualified as a yoga teacher in 2013 with Yoga Therapy Ireland (500 hrs) with additional qualifications in Yoga in Cancer Care, Adaptive Chair Yoga, Mam & Baby Yoga and Yin Yoga. She also teaches chair-based yoga class throughout the county with Third Age Group, Healthy Meath and in a local nursing home. In 2024, Brid qualified as a Yoga4Health Teacher. Bríd is very excited to share her passion in teaching the Yoga4Heath Programme- sharing with everyone, regardless of ability, the many benefits that yoga has to offer.
